Love God and Love Neighbor.

At Cross Way we want to make sure everyone has an opportunity to serve God and our community. These connections are what bring us closer to each other, fill our lives with richer relationships, keep us united in a common goal and ultimately help bring us closer to God.

Below are a few of the major missional programs at Cross Way UMC.

Power Pack Program

Cross Way provides Power Packs to students in need at local elementary schools. The goal of Power Packs is to help provide additional food for children in need over the weekend. The target audience is children who are on the reduced/free lunch program. Statistics show that on average, 82% of these children are without food on the weekends. These children rely on their local schools to provide breakfast and lunch for them five days a week.

The Power Packs consist of non-perishable, healthy and nutritious kid-friendly food items. Every other week, volunteers from Cross Way load the packs with food and deliver them to the school counselor, who will then discreetly distribute them to the students in the program.

Food and/or monetary donations will be needed on a continual basis in order to fulfill our commitment throughout the school year. A donation box will be available each week for food donations. Monetary donations can be made in the offering basket by writing Power Pack in the memo.

SLRP 2019: 11:30am-12:30pm – June 5 – July 31 (Excluding July 3rd)
Paloma Creek Elementary School

We are excited to be offering this program for the 5th summer in a row! Each Wednesday during the summer, children come and participate in SLRP from 11:30am-12:30pm. They receive a free lunch, participate in fun, enriching activities, and are encouraged to read with adults on site. When children leave, they are invited to borrow books from the SLRP! Library and take home to read during the week. SLRP has many books for all reading levels to choose from.

The following week children log their reading time into their logs. Students who participate and complete reading logs will receive awards at school in the fall!

NO RSVP needed! Come, eat, play, learn, and read!

Over the summer, many children read less than during the school year (or not at all!). This summer don’t stop! Check out new books, read to other children and adults and get rewarded for all your hard work!
